Interim Rector's Notes - November 23, 2017

Wishing you all a happy day of thanksgiving!

Remember that the first Thanksgiving celebration was by the Pilgrims, thanking God that they had made it through their first year in a new land.  And they almost didn't make it!  They landed in November, 1620-much too late to plant crops to sustain themselves over the winter. Let's not forget that what kept them from starving was their Indian neighbors, the Wampanoag people, who sold them corn, and also taught them how to manage in an unfamiliar territory.  As we celebrate our allegiance to our nation, let us thank God for our ability to work in concert with others-people with different religions, language, color, and customs.  This ability has been essential to our survival from the very beginning.

An organizational meeting for the Epiphany Play will be on November 26 following the 10am service.  A sign up sheet is also available in back of the church.  We need many actors, angels and narrators.  Please see Leo Steffens with any questions.
