Parish Notes - May 31, 2018

This weekend is a BIG weekend for St. Matt's - our yard sale is on Saturday and Mass on the Grass is on Sunday.  I can't wait for both events as they are great opportunities for fun and fellowship.  The trailer is overflowing with stuff and the forecast for Saturday is cloudy with just a chance of rain (MUCH better than was expected earlier this week). Sunday's weather is supposed to be fine as well.

So I invite you to put on your "I am St. Matthew's" pin if you have one and enjoy this weekend together.  Together, at the yard sale, we will raise money for those in need and together, on Sunday, we will worship and play and swim and share a meal with one another at the Clark's.  To me, this weekend shows what St. Matthew's is all about.  Thank you for being such a loving and outreaching community of faith.

Peace, Nancy
Please note the office is CLOSED TODAY May 31.

Yard & Bake Sale
The Outreach Committee is in need of volunteers Saturday June 2 from 6am-2pm to help unload the trailer (full of good items), set up, sell, and clean up. A couple hours of your time is needed and appreciated. If you've never had the pleasure of a Saturday morning yard sale at St. Matthew's, you've missed out!

CCC Bag Sale
While you're at the yard sale, stop by the Community Clothing Center on Saturday, June 2 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. for our fabulous bag sale! Just $10 to fill a bag with clothing. Some items excluded, like housewares and formal wear.
Mass on the Grass - June 3, 10am

Bring a chair to settle in for outdoor worship and giving thanks to our acolytes and many ministries. Immediately following we will continue with a picnic.  Feel free to bring something for the grill and a dish to share and bathing suits and towels for those who wish to swim!
Also, we do live in NH and the mosquitoes & ticks are everywhere. Please be sure to bring some bug spray as well!

Clark's Residence: 6 Bedford Rd. New Boston NH
Directions: Take Route 13 to New Boston, turn left before the service station, go to the top of the hill and you are there. Please park in the field, not along the road.

The Annual Ramadan Iftar Dinner
"An Interfaith Dialogue & Friendship Gathering"

Ramadan is a time when the principles of generosity and hospitality become especially important. Ramadan is the month of fasting, developing self-control and kindness, a time of comprehensive thanksgiving and charity. It's a time of training oneself to become a better person spiritually and improving relationships with family, friends and neighbors.

In this regard, Turkish Cultural Center cordially invites you to the annual Ramadan Iftar Dinner Program on Sunday, June 3.

We kindly invite you and your guests to share the traditions of breaking the bread around a table for long lasting friendship, appreciation for diversity, celebrating harmony and peace in the world.

We will also have a guest speaker, Chaplain Imam Ibrahim Sayar fromBoston Children's Hospital
