Interim Rector's Notes - June 8, 2017

June 11th is Trinity Sunday, the celebration of the "God in three persons."  One reason it's hard to get our minds around that idea is that the word "person" doesn't mean the same thing as it did to the early Christians who wrote about it in Latin.  The Latin word "persona" meant a theatrical mask that actors wore on the stage. Each mask, like the famous masks of comedy and tragedy, indicated a particular role the actor was playing. So you could have one actor in multiple roles.  Or one God with three parts to play in our lives.  Does that help?  Come to church on Sunday and let me know!
